The National Security Archive collects and publishes declassified documents acquired through FOIA, and constitutes in digital and paper forms a veritable treasure trove for researchers dealing with the period of the Cold War. This above site represents only a sampling of the materials available, and the full Digital National Security Archive (see below) is expensive -- over a $1,000 annually for full access.

Titles and abstracts of archived documents are available free at this site, but text of the documents held in most of the collections require that a visitor subscribe to the service -- at a cost of over a $1,000 annually for full access. Reviewing the site for Choice, May 1999, Dolman commented that "[t]echnical support is poor for that price."

b. The Pearl Harbor attack hearings (and other material relating to Pearl Harbor).

c. Studies on the use of "Ultra"-supplied military intelligence.
